The 5-Lakes Trail is the hiking trail of superlatives in the Zermatt mountains: the Matterhorn is reflected in three of these mountain lakes. The view of the many mountain giants is unique and the hiking route highly varied.
Description
The trail leads to the lakes Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee and Leisee. They are all mountain lakes that are not easily forgotten. Different in shape, color, character and size, there is something completely different to discover at each lake. At Leisee, it's all about swimming, fun for the kids. At Grünsee, the landscape shows its barren side, where stone pines hold their ground despite scree and sand. Rare flowers grow at Grindji Lake. And so on. Who discovers more?

ADVENTURE TRAIL
Challenging mountain hike
This steep hike compensates with beautiful views on two sides - on the one hand to the alpine panorama with the mighty 4000m peaks, on the other hand to the valley basin of Zermatt as well as to a lonely little valley.
Description
This route is adventurous. On 4.1 km one overcomes about 900 meters of altitude. That means it goes steeply downhill. Or uphill. Both are exciting. The view from the Ritzengrat into the remote and lonely little valley Tufterkumme can hold surprises. Maybe there are chamois on the way.
The view of the Matterhorn, the Weisshorn and the other mountain giants is impressive.
